Improvement 1031 Exchange

An Improvement 1031 Exchange is an exchange in which improvements are added to the replacement property before it is received by the exchanger.  Usually, this is a building added to an unimproved lot.  During the construction period, the qualified intermediary holds the title and transfers to the exchanger when construction is finished.
